About Me
Dannica Batoon is the Vice President and Head of Programs at the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS), responsible for IAPSS partnerships and communication with external organizations. She is a Master of Strategic Communications Management (MSCM), high distinction, at Monash University. She serves as the Monash Arts Education Committee Postgraduate Student Representative and one of two MSCM student leaders.
Dannica recently completed the Monash Arts Graduate Leadership Program, training for high-achieving and high-performing coursework Master's students. It included peer mentorship, representing Monash Arts to prospective Arts postgraduate students, assisting the program coordinator during orientations, and leadership and advocacy activities.
She was a journalism intern at Monash University Arts Alumni Team. She was responsible for tracking over 800 Monash Arts Alums' professional backgrounds and career progress. She did educational and professional background research on 151 House of Representatives members of the Australian Parliament. She also interviewed Monash Arts Alum, including Ika Krismantari, chief editor of the Conversation Indonesia, and transcribed interview transcripts for posting at the Monash Arts Alumni website.
Dannica also has a hospitality management experience and excellent customer experience skills as a former front house crew member at TGI Friday's. Her tasks included welcoming guests, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the dine-in area, assisting the guest with orders, and upselling. She was also a team member at a yogurt shop in Melbourne. Her responsibilities included opening and closing the store, preparing the food ingredient, taking and preparing online and in-store orders, handling the cashier, explaining the menu to new customers, and maintaining an overall pleasant experience at the store.
